You <strong><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\">can\u2019t trade<\/span><\/strong> with others or use the <\/span>Grand Exchange<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the player market, to buy or sell goods. If another player attacks a monster, you get no drops \u2013\u00a0you\u2019ll have to earn every item yourself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You choose <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ironman mode <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on Tutorial Island, the starter area. Teammates can share items.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Hardcore Group Ironman:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a group with Hardcore stakes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Unranked Group Ironman:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a group that stays off the hiscores.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can change the modes later, but only in one direction \u2013\u00a0you\u2019re able to remove the rules later but not add them back.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Early game: quests first<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start with <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">quests<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 they\u2019ll improve your skills faster than any early grind. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s take combat as an example: you could kill chickens with a bronze dagger for hours. Or, you could finish Waterfall Quest and The Feud, then train with an adamant scimitar before you touch a monster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many quest bosses are easy to safespot. A safespot is a tile where the boss can\u2019t hit you, so that\u2019ll give you some quick progress in the early game. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before you proceed, keep in mind that<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">most quests need <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eldorado.gg\/blog\/osrs-en\/osrs-membership-guide\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OSRS membership.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you have figured out the membership, your first quest waits in Lumbridge. Which one will it be?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your first four quests<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learning the <\/span><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Ropes<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><strong> comes first<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 start your quest order with it in Lumbridge. The quest rewards <\/span>Hitpoints XP<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which is the experience points for your health skill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Afterward, the <\/span><b><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\">Cook\u2019s Assistant<\/span><\/b>,<b> <span style=\"color: #ffb600;\">Sheep Shearer<\/span><\/b>, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b> The Restless Ghost <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">quests follow. They train <\/span>Cooking<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span>Crafting,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span>Prayer<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In addition, each one sets you up for a later quest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quests that unlock places and tools\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Later quests open new places and tools. <\/span>Bone Voyage <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span>Lost City <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are the two most important ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><strong>Bone Voyage<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> opens Fossil Island. You can set up birdhouses there, a method for training Hunter \u2013 the skill of catching creatures. You also get ultracompost for your farm runs, and Ammonite Crabs, a low-level combat training spot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Lost City<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> opens Zanaris, a new area. However, to be able to use them, you\u2019ll need one more quest: <\/span><b><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\">Fairytale I &#8211; Growing Pains<\/span><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since you start with almost no teleports, the next section explains how to <\/span>travel fast before you unlock the fairy rings.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In addition, we\u2019ll go over <\/span>food<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span>training skills<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> early in the game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Early game: getting around<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. Run energy and Agility<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You start with almost no teleports, so you walk and run across the map. Keep in mind that running drains run energy, and it refills quite slowly at first. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Luckily, there\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Agility <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to fix that \u2013 your refill speed rises every 10 levels, plus the drain slows. Higher levels also unlock shortcuts that cut your walking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Something else drains your run energy: your total weight, plus what you\u2019ve got in your inventory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What can you do about it?<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Graceful outfit and weight<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can wear the <\/span><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Graceful outfit<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which cuts 25 kg of weight and speeds up your refill by 30%. You earn it by training Agility, which you\u2019ll need either way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The outfit costs 260 marks of grace. You collect them on rooftop Agility courses, which takes you to around 60 Agility. Until then, wear<\/span><b><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"> Boots of lightness<\/span> <\/b>(-4.535 kg)<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the Temple of Ikov cellar and <\/span><b><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\">Hunter gear<\/span> <\/b>(-5 kg).<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. Early teleports<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Light feet help, but teleports save even more time. It takes you to <\/span>Wintertodt Camp<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and four other places.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #9684ff;\"><b>Ring of dueling<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enchant it at <\/span><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>27 Magic<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It takes you to <\/span>Ferox Enclave,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where a pool restores your health, prayer, and run energy.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #9684ff;\"><b>Ardougne cloak 1<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finish the easy <\/span><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Ardougne Diary<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Then you get unlimited teleports to the <\/span>Ardougne Monastery.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. Early food<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While teleports can get you to a fight, you\u2019ll need food to stay alive in it. Each heals 11 Hitpoints but lowers your Attack by 2.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #9684ff;\"><b>Cakes<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Steal them from bakery stalls in East Ardougne or Great Kourend (5 Thieving). Each heals 12 Hitpoints.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #9684ff;\"><b>Karambwans<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finish Tai Bwo Wannai Trio, then buy them at the Shrimp and Parrot in Brimhaven. Each heals 18 Hitpoints, and you can eat one right after another food.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5. Training skills<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coins buy supplies, but skills give you both. Each catch trains Fishing, Strength, and Agility.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With these skills up, you\u2019re ready for combat gear and Slayer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mid game: Slayer, Barrows and bosses<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that your skills are up and your supplies are steady, you need combat gear. Note that you can\u2019t buy any of it \u2013 each piece will come from a task, a minigame, or a boss.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slayer<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slayer is the core of your mid-game. A Slayer master gives you monsters to kill; each task will pay in combat experience, coins, skilling supplies, and weapon upgrades.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Turael:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> He has no requirements, but his tasks give little experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Mazchna:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> You need 20 Combat and the Priest in Peril quest.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Vannaka:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> You need 40 Combat. Many players like his tasks.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tasks will lead to the abyssal whip, the trident of the seas, and the tormented synapse. You fight six brothers in burial mounds, then loot a chest for armour sets. Finish Priest in Peril first, then start the His Faithful Servants miniquest.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Dharok\u2019s and Guthan\u2019s:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> These sets help with melee training and some bossing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Karil\u2019s and Ahrim\u2019s:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> These sets have high offence and defence. Karil\u2019s crossbow also bridges you to the toxic blowpipe.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A full set can take hundreds of runs. To speed that up, use the <\/span><b><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\">Barrows Teleport<\/span><\/b>. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It needs 78 Magic with a red spicy stew boost and a portal chamber in your player-owned house. In addition, the hard <\/span><span style=\"color: #ffb600;\"><b>Morytania Diary <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will give you 50% more runes from the chest.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moons of Peril<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moons of Peril is a boss encounter that you unlock with the Perilous Moons quest.
