Steal an Egg update 8 is here, introducing rideable pet mounts, the new Shooting Star event, and the Nitro Race event. You can now collect Shooting Stars, turn your favorite pets into mounts, and compete against other players to earn Trophies and unlock exclusive rewards.

What’s new in Steal an Egg update 8?

The main additions in Steal an Egg update 8 include:

• Pet Mounts: Use a Star on a pet to turn it into a rideable mount.
• Shooting Star event: Watch for a rare nighttime event that rewards eligible players with a Star.
• Stellaris the Star Handler: Purchase up to five additional Stars per week.
• Nitro Race event: Join races every 30 minutes and compete for Trophies.
• Nitro Race Shop: Spend Trophies on boosters, Nitro mutation (x2.75) consumables, and an exclusive bat.
• Win Pass: Win races to progress through milestones and unlock five new pets you can hatch and use as exclusive race mounts.

Steal an Egg mounts

The biggest addition in Update 8 is the new mount system. You can now turn your favorite pets into mounts and ride them around the map.

To create a mount, you’ll need a Star ⭐, which is consumed when you use it.

How to get a mount in Steal an Egg

Follow these steps to turn a pet into a mount:

1. Get a Shooting Star. Wait for a Shooting Star event or purchase one from Stellaris the Star Handler.
2. Choose your favorite pet. Decide which pet you want to turn into a mount.
3. Activate the Shooting Star on the pet. Use the Star to transform the selected pet into a mount.
4. Ride your new mount. Once transformed, you can use your pet as a mount to travel around the map.

NOTE: Each mount requires one Star, and the item is consumed when used. The transformation cannot be undone, so choose your pet carefully before activating it.

Shooting Star event

The Shooting Star event is one way to obtain the item needed to create a mount. Every night, there’s a rare chance for a Shooting Star event to occur.

When the event triggers, the sky darkens and a Star falls from above. Every eligible player on the server receives a Star, so you don’t need to compete against other players to claim the event reward.

How to get Stars

There are two ways to obtain Stars in update 8:

• Wait for the nightly event (RNG): A Shooting Star event has a rare chance to occur every night. If it happens, eligible players on the server receive a Star.
• Visit Stellaris the Star Handler: Purchase up to five Stars per week.

NOTE: You must be in the server from the start of that in-game day to receive a Star from the event. Server hopping to find a Star won’t work.

Star Shop and weekly limit

If you don’t want to wait for the nightly event, you can purchase Stars from Stellaris the Star Handler. The shop offers bundles of 1, 3, or 5 Stars. Your weekly purchase limit resets every Saturday, so you can buy more when the next weekly stock becomes available.

Nitro Race event

Update 8 also introduces a Mario Kart-like Nitro Race event, where you can compete against other players every 30 minutes. Participate in races to earn Trophies, then spend them on rewards from the event shop.

The event offers several rewards, including boosters, Nitro mutation consumables, and an exclusive Race Bat.

Nitro Race rewards

You can spend the Trophies earned from races on the following items:

• Boosters: Purchase boosts to help with progression.
• Nitro mutation consumables: Get a new Nitro mutation consumable with a 10% chance of application.
• Exclusive Racing Bat: Obtain a special bat available through the event.

How to unlock the five new race pets

The Nitro Race event also introduces a Win Pass with five new pets to collect. You unlock these pets by reaching milestones based on your race wins.

To progress through the Win Pass:

1. Join the Nitro Race event. Look for races that take place every 30 minutes.
2. Compete for first place. Winning a race advances your Win Pass progression.
3. Reach win milestones. Keep winning races to unlock the five new pets – 35 wins to unlock the entire Win Pass. 
4. Unlock and hatch the pets. Once obtained, you can hatch these exclusive pets and use them as race mounts.
