Regular mutations
These mutations spawn naturally on the Red Carpet. You can hunt for them anytime without waiting for Taco Tuesday and Saturday Admin Abuse:
- Gold (10% spawn chance)
- Diamond (20.4% spawn chance)
- Rainbow (1% spawn chance)
Rainbow is the best permanent mutation, giving you the same income boost as Divine without requiring event timing.
Event mutations (Admin Abuse)
Event mutations pop up when the game announces special events or when certain conditions are triggered. These mutations have a small chance to appear during their respective events when Admin Abuse is active.

NOTE: Divine is the only mutation that comes with its own Halo trait.

After update 47 (April 18, 2026), the best mutation in Steal a Brainrot is Cyber (11x).
How mutations and traits stack in Steal a Brainrot

To calculate brainrot’s income, consider three factors.

- Mutation multiplier
- Trait multipliers
Base income × (mutation multiplier + (trait multiplier#1 - 1) + (trait multiplier#2 - 1) + ⋯) = final income

Steal a Brainrot mutation index rewards
Each regular mutation possesses its own index. Completing any index adds 0.5x to the cash multiplier. You have to collect 75% of brainrots in the mutation index to get the multiplier and a corresponding base skin.
NOTE: The Divine mutation index requires 60% of all Divine brainrots.
