Steal a Brainrot Summer Update is shaping up to be one of the biggest quality-of-life updates the game has received in recent months. The Summer Update introduces major changes to trading, progression tracking, and adds a new mutation along with the summer lucky block, giving players new ways to collect and manage their favorite brainrots.
In this guide, we’ll cover everything currently known about Steal a Brainrot Update 53, including the new Phantom mutation, trading improvements, Summer Lucky Block, and more.
What is in Steal a Brainrot Summer Update?
Update 53, the Summer Update, launched on June 13, 2026. The update focuses heavily on improving trading systems and introducing new collectible content.
The update includes:
- Permanent trading system.
- New RNG Machine.
- New brainrots
- Octo Lucky Block.
- Phantom mutation.
- Reworked index.
- Trading for seasonal base skins.
- New base skin – Red Octo.
- Redeem vodes.
1. Trading becomes a permanent feature
One of the most significant changes in the Summer Update is the removal of the Trade Machine.
Instead of requiring a dedicated machine, trading is now permanently available via a GUI button next to the Codes menu. This makes trading much more accessible and eliminates the need to travel to a specific location just to exchange brainrots. Also, Trading Plaza will most likely appear during the Admin Abuse on June 20th.
2. RNG Machine
A new RNG Machine is coming to Steal a Brainrot, taking the place of the old Trading machine. While the detailed mechanics have not yet been fully revealed, players expect it to provide another method for obtaining brainrots at various odds.
3. New brainrots
4 new non-Red Carpet brainrots.
- Rocketini Frostini & Frullato Framingo: redeeming a code.
- Los Fruits & Venuspino: Summer Fuse Machine.

4. Octo Lucky Block
The Summer Update also introduces the brand-new Octo Lucky Block, bringing seven new brainrots for players to collect. Unlike previous seasonal Lucky Blocks, which typically featured two Brainrot Gods, the Octo Lucky Block includes only one. For players looking for even better rewards, a Premium Octo Lucky Block is also available.

With eight new brainrots to unlock, the Octo Lucky Block is likely to become one of the main attractions of the summer update for collectors and completionists alike
5. Phantom mutation
After nearly two months of players chasing Cyber mutations since their April debut, the Summer Update introduces the brand-new Phantom mutation. With a massive 12x multiplier, it now holds the highest mutation multiplier in the game. Combined with its unique shadow effects, Phantom is sure to stand out in both your collection and updated Index page.

6. Improved Index page
The Index page received a welcome overhaul in Update 53, making it easier than ever to track your collection progress.
Key improvements include:
- A new search bar for quickly finding specific brainrots.
- Adding a page for the new Phantom mutation.
Players who didn’t manage to obtain the Cyber base skin before the introduction of Phantom mutation now have a second chance, thanks to seasonal base skins becoming tradable.

Shiny new index page looks doesn’t disappoint
7. Seasonal base skins can now be traded
Another major addition is the ability to trade Seasonal Base Skins. Previously, many seasonal cosmetics were locked to the account that earned them.
With the Summer Update, players can exchange seasonal base appearances with others, creating an entirely new market for collectors and traders.
NOTE: Base skins are only tradeable when they leave the game, meaning currently obtainable skins will not be tradeable.
8. New base skin – Red Octo
The Summer Update also introduces the Red Octo premium seasonal base skin. Unlike the standard Summer Base, which is earned through index completion, the Red Octo Base can be obtained directly through purchase and is currently available in-game.

9. New codes added
Alongside the Summer Update, several new limited-use codes were released during the Admin Abuse event:
- SUMMERUPD3
- OCTOBLOCK555
- WSUMMERUPD1
Unfortunately, all three codes had a limited number of redemptions available and were claimed within seconds of being announced. If you missed out this time, it’s worth keeping an eye on future Admin Abuse events, as Sammy often releases exclusive codes and rewards during the event.
