What are the traits in Steal a Brainrot?
Traits are permanent modifiers that boost your brainrot’s income and add unique visual effects. They are usually applied to brainrots during Admin Abuse, seasonal, country, natural, and ritual events. Each trait adds a visual element, like a sombrero hat or bunny ears, along with a money-per-second (income) multiplier.
Traits work differently from mutations because you can stack multiple traits on a single brainrot, regardless of rarity. Since traits are obtained during various events, this opens the door to trait farming. A Common and an OG brainrot can have the same traits, so it’s better practice to farm traits on higher-rarity brainrots.

There are 54 traits in Steal a Brainrot, spread across several categories:

The best traits are generally those with the highest multiplier, good accessibility, and a strong chance of being applied to specific brainrots. Most high-multiplier ones aren’t available through normal spawning, so you’ll have to wait for specific event windows or Admin Abuse sessions to grab them. This limits traits to those that come from admin events, rituals, or limited-time machines.
NOTE: Trait availability and multipliers can shift with weekly updates and special events, and many traits are frequently made unavailable.
Best Admin Abuse traits
These four traits are the holy grail, as they’re locked behind Admin Abuse events and are only realistically obtainable with 25x luck active.
Strawberry: Currently the highest multiplier at 9x, making it the single best trait in the game. The best chance to obtain it is during a 3-lane Red Carpet event while high luck is active.
Meowl: The second-best trait with an 8x multiplier, though it remains extremely rare even with active luck. You’ll know the event is active when small trees with tiny Meowls appear on the map, and affected brainrots gain cat ears.
John Pork: One of the newest OG traits, offering a 7.2x multiplier if you manage to obtain it. Affected brainrots display green “call” and red “decline” buttons.
Skibidi: One of the top traits with a 7x multiplier. During the event, Skibidi heads appear across the map, and affected brainrots gain one as well.
Best traits to farm
Trait farming in Steal a Brainrot usually means the player actively adds traits to specific brainrots. The best farming strategies happen during Admin Abuse events, so this list focuses on the most common traits you can obtain during those events, along with ritual-based options.
Brazil: Brazil event can grant this 6x trait when a laser beam hits your brainrot.
Fire: A solar flare striking your brainrot applies a 6x multiplier.
Nyan: 6x Admin Abuse trait that brainrot gets when it’s touched by spawned in Nyan cats.
Lightning: Lightning strikes can grant your brainrot the 6x Admin Abuse trait.
Paint: Chicleteira Bicicleteira can apply this 6x trait by hitting your brainrot with a spray paint can while it’s on the Red Carpet.
:3: During Admin Abuse, Los Mi Gatito cats can apply the 5.5x trait to spawned brainrots.
Sombrero: 5x trait, which your brainrot can get during the Admin Abuse Mexico event.
Indonesia: Another solid country 5x trait that happens during Admin Abuse.
Crab Claw: Crabs can apply this 5x trait when they pinch your brainrot during Admin Abuse.
Spider: 4.5x ritual trait, appears when little Los Spyderinis touch a brainrot.
Matteo Hat: This 4.5x ritual trait is gained by brainrot walking into a tree or getting struck by lightning. Make sure to perform the ritual on the path of the brainrot while farming!
Galactic: A comet impact grants this 4x ritual trait.
Explosive: Svinina Bombardino explosions, dropped from Bombardino Crocodilo’s, apply this 4x ritual trait.
Shark Fin: During the Orcalero Orcala ritual, hits from Orcalero Orcala or Tralalero Tralala can grant this 4x trait.
Traits to avoid
Sleepy is the worst trait in the game. It halves (lowers) your brainrot’s income because its 0.5x multiplier is applied after all other calculations. Avoid it unless you’re collecting solely for completion purposes.
Witching Hour is usually obtained during the Witching Hour seasonal event. This trait was considered really hard to get because of the low odds. Also, the fact that it can only apply to brainrots on the Red Carpet makes it non-ideal for farming.
How trait stacking works in Steal a Brainrot
Total income follows this formula: base income + mutation modifier + sum of all trait modifiers. Multiple traits stack additively inside the calculation, not multiplicatively.
Base income × (mutation multiplier + (trait multiplier#1 – 1) + (trait multiplier#2 – 1) + ⋯) = final income
Brainrot income calculation example
A Foxini Lanternini with $115M/s base income, a 6x Lava mutation, and two traits (3x Taco and 5.5x :3) would calculate as:
$115M/s x (6 + (3 - 1)+(5.5 - 1)) = $1,437B/s
Due to this calculation method, trait stacking generally works best on a high-income brainrots. This is why, if you plan to farm traits, you need to have your best brainrots prepared for it.
NOTE: Sleepy trait applies after everything else, so it literally cuts your final number in half. A $1.4B/s income brainrot with Sleepy drops to $700M/s.
How to get traits fast in Steal a Brainrot: farming guide
During trait farming, your goal is to stack as many traits on the most valuable brainrot you can get during Admin Abuse. The best results come from combining Admin Abuse events, rituals, and optimized player setups.
1. Use a private server
Private servers prevent other players from interfering, stealing your brainrots, or disrupting event setups, allowing you to fully control the farming environment.
2. Aim for an optimal player setup
For the most efficient trait farming, aim for a group of around six players: four focused on performing rituals and two handling rebuying of brainrots you’re farming. This setup keeps brainrots moving across the map while ensuring rituals are consistently active.
3. Prepare for rituals
Before starting, stock up on the required brainrots for each ritual you plan to run. Ritual events can occur during Admin Abuse, but they trigger unpredictably and don’t always grant a trait. So keep backup brainrots ready to manually repeat the ritual.
4. Prioritize high-value brainrots
Always farm traits on high-income brainrots, preferably Brainrot God or Secret rarities. Since traits stack additively, higher base income brainrots benefit significantly more from each multiplier.
Active events only apply traits to newly spawned brainrots. There are several ways to get higher rarity brainrots:
- Use the Fuse Machine to craft a better brainrot. Do this early so fuze happens during the event.
- Wait for rare brainrots to spawn during Admin Abuse events, when spawn rates increase.
5. Use rebuying to extend uptime
Rebuying takes advantage of a core game mechanic that allows players to purchase a brainrot before it reaches a base. By repeatedly buying the same brainrot, players keep it active on the map longer, increasing the chances that events apply traits to it.
NOTE: You can also use this method solo, but you’ll need secondary Roblox accounts in a private server and switch between them to rebuy the same brainrot.
6. Have enough currency
Before starting, make sure you have enough currency to sustain continuous rebuys. Running out of money mid-session will break your farming flow and significantly reduce your chances of stacking multiple traits efficiently. For Secret or OG brainrots, the required funds can easily reach tens of quadrillions.
7. Place bases strategically for rebuying
When farming traits, players whose bases are farthest apart and opposite each other should handle rebuying.
