What are mutations in Grow a Garden 2?

Mutations are visual plant/crop modifiers and selling price multipliers. All plants and crops can only get a single mutation at a time. A mutated plant produces ONLY mutated crops, permanently. However, non-mutated plants can also produce mutated fruits.

How to get mutations in Grow a Garden 2?

There are four ways to get plant mutations:

1. Random chance while growing or harvesting.
   Crops have a 1% chance of mutating at any time.
2. Planting Gold or Rainbow seeds.
   Gold and Rainbow seeds guarantee a mutated plant. These seeds spawn randomly on the map during weather events (see standard plant mutations below).
3. Weather events.
   Most higher-tier mutations can occur only during these random weather events (see environmental plant mutations below).
4. Owning pets.
   Pets like Golden Dragonfly and Unicorn double the chance for plants and crops to turn Gold and Rainbow, respectively.

Plant mutations in Grow a Garden 2 are standard or environmental.

1. Standard mutations, Gold and Rainbow, occur during regular gameplay with very low probability or are guaranteed when planting Golden or Rainbow seeds.
2. Environmental mutations can only be triggered randomly during special weather events. Since each plant can only receive one mutation, it’s best to plant strategically before rare weather events.
