With the Council, League of Legends Classic players will have a say in future updates to this game mode. Meanwhile, the Voting Power is tied to the Classic Progression Track, so playing and progressing through levels will also determine how much weight your vote has.

What is the League of Legends Classic Council?
Simply put, the Council is a community-voting system (a poll with questions).
You can find it in the LoL Client, and if the poll is active, you can answer questions about features Riot may change, add, or bring back. If you’re eligible, that is.
Who can vote?
You can vote on your preferences via the Council widget once you get the Voting Power reward upon reaching the 5th level in the Progression Track.
How does Voting Power work in League Classic?
Voting Power determines your voting weight. Ultimately, 1 Voting Power gives players one vote per question, so the more you have, the more influence your answer has on the decision.

What can players vote on?
Not every decision is put to a vote in the League of Legends Classic Council, meaning that the Riot dev team is still responsible for things like game balance, stability, and competitive integrity.
However, summoners do have a say regarding topics such as:
- Game length
- Item revivals
- Map features
First voting results
The first Council in League of Legends Classic, which included eight questions, has already concluded. Most players supported bringing back all three proposed Classic items, keeping base gates, adding jungle timers, and keeping ward trinkets.
Players voted on the following questions, and the results are written next to the answers:

- Too long (26.2%)
- Way too long (13.2%)
- Too short (5.9%)

2: When is a game too long?
- 40 minutes (32.7%)
- 50 minutes (29.3%)
- 30 minutes (16.8%)
- 60 minutes (11.6%)
- No preferred maximum (9.6%)
3: Which of these items do you want us to revive in Classic? Each item that scores higher than 50% is added, including “All 3.”
- All 3 (60.7%)
- Zz’Rot Portal (16.1%)
- None (14.3%)
- Moonflair Spellblade (5.1%)
- Cloak and Dagger (3.8%)
4: Should Classic add jungle timers? If options 1 and 2 receive more than 50% combined, the higher of those two options wins.
- Yes — Add modern jungle timers that are always visible on the minimap (45.7%)
- No — Keep the current minimap (30.8%)
- Yes — Only when the scoreboard is open (23.5%)
5: Base gates were added at the start of Season 5 to give the defending team a way to protect its base without relying on more extreme comeback mechanics. Should we keep base gates in the game?

6: How snowbally do games feel to you now?
- About right (48.8%)
- Slightly too snowbally (25%)
- Not snowbally enough (12.2%)

How to vote in the League of Legends Classic Council?
To vote in the League of Legends Classic Council when a poll is active, head to the LoL Client and:
- Select the Classic tab at the top left.
- Click on the Council widget at the bottom right.
- Choose your answer for each question.
- Submit your votes before the poll closes.
NOTE: You can also change your vote until Council voting is closed (it stays open for seven days).
Why did Riot create the Council?
With Classic, Riot aims to recreate an experience inspired by the game’s earliest seasons without turning the mode into an exact copy of one. That’s why the 3rd LoL season is just an inspiration.
Additionally, the Riot team had a whole discussion about what the Classic LoL experience is for them, and even answers within the team differed. So they want to include the summoners’ community in decisions that create the true Classic LoL experience.
When is the next League Classic Council vote?
The first voting opened on August 26, 2026, alongside Patch 26.17, and ran until September 2. Riot planned the second Council voting round for September 23, 2026, alongside Patch 26.19.
