The League of Legends Classic Progression Track makes summoners earn rewards in this game mode instead of just handing them out. Masteries unlock at level 3, Runes start at level 4, Council voting at level 5, and Summoner’s Journey at level 10. These are the main parts of Classic LoL mode, but many more rewards are spread across the 30-level progression system.
We cover the benefits and requirements for all League of Legends Classic Progression Track levels and missions, as well as explain how the Summoner’s Journey works.
LoL Classic progression rewards, levels, and CXP
The newly launched League of Legends Classic includes a Progression Tracker. Whenever you collect a predetermined amount of Classic XP (CXP) by playing, you progress through a total of 30 levels.
Reaching each level on the LoL Classic Progression Track grants a reward or two. You can receive additional Rune pages, skins for Classic champions, Voting Power, etc. Climbing through all 30 levels requires 13,950 CXP total, and the final reward is a Blitzcrank skin.

LoL Classic missions: daily, weekly, and event rewards
You get rewards not only for leveling up in League Classic, but for completing missions, too.
Daily missions
To complete daily missions, all you need to do is win (easy, right?). They reset daily at 11:00 am PT.

Summoner’s Journey in League Classic: ranks & MMR
To put it bluntly, Summoner’s Journey is ranked, but for Classic. It unlocks when you reach Classic level 10. The ranking consists of Emblems and Divisions. You always start in IV Division, and the goal is to climb to Division I in each of these Emblems:
- Salt (the one you start at)
- Wood
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Legend
Players need 100 SP (similar to LP) to move up to the next Division. Meanwhile, if you’re already in Division I, those points will get you to the next Emblem. Dropping below 0 SP results in a demotion.
However, there’s a catch: your matches before unlocking Summoner’s Journey still count toward a hidden Matchmaking Rating (MMR) used for matchmaking and progression.
An even bigger issue (in my eyes at least) is that after reaching the 10th level, there are no separate queues. This means, in a way, you’re forced to play ranked in Classic even when the goal was to relax and have fun with friends, not climb tiers.
Riot said they kept one shared queue for now to maintain good matchmaking and understand what players actually want. It may change in the future, so fingers crossed.
League Classic Pass: tiers, rewards, and CPC costs
In the League of Legends Classic Pass tab, players will find even more goods as limited-time offers. However, some require the Premium Pass (Classic Pass: Act 1) to purchase.
